Off The Topic Of Fashion: R.I.P Trayvon Martin and Talia Castellano

Good night everyone and if you’re somewhere around the world good morning.

Here in the United States we’ve had quite a few sad news in the media and I’m sharing my thoughts on them.

As you may know the verdict of the Trayvon Martin case was not a happy ending. It hurts me down to the bone that it ended the way it did and I feel justice was not served. Though in the “court of law” you are innocent till proven guilty. Our justice system is full of loopholes. It’s very sad that a Trayvon will never be able to tell his side of the story, but he is in a better place now.  My prayer goes out to his family.trayvon_martin

Yesterday July 16, I learned Talia Castellano (who was 13) passed away from a long battle of cancer. Now… there are many people who are battling this deadly disease and It sucks! What gets me about Talia is that, she was able to look at her disease as something positive and a blessing. If that’s not strong, then I don’t know what is. Till yesterday I did not know much about her except seeing her videos pop up in the search results feed on YouTube. After watching some of her videos, she inspired me to look at life differently especially during those down moments.  Most of all this beautiful young lady was able to find a way to help others in her shoes find beauty by teaching them how to use make-up. She was a true inspiration to millions and will be missed dearly. Check out her Facebook Fanpage and YouTube channel for her story.cover_girl_talia

That concludes my thoughts. Didn’t mean to get all sad. What are your thoughts?
